Overview and Methodology

  • It is a report from a survey of a team. It uses a survey to gather an individual-level perceptual assessment of the organisational culture and team performance. It is designed to reveal how the team experiences their culture, helping team leaders understand how their team feels about their performance and how the team copes in their environment. It is based on the team’s perception and is not an external audit.

  • The survey utilizes the "Westrum Continuum" and research by Professor Ron Westrum. It classifies the environment as pathological, bureaucratic or generative using multiple criteria. Respondents provide individual-level reports regarding their organisational culture, norms, and behaviors.

  • The survey utilizes nine dimensions to enable individuals to share their perception of the level of team performance and the extent to which the team is coping.

  • The package includes the link for the team to tackle the survey, and the Team Assessment. The report is a comprehensive 50-page report of the results and good practices, discussion videos from the survey creators, and access to a community space for leaders.

  • The Team Assessment is a report for the leader of a single team of 5 or more people. The Multi-Team Assessment is a report for leaders who want to understand the pattern across a number of teams. It builds on the findings from the Team Assessments and provides insights for a group of teams. It is only available to people whose organizations have bought 5 Team Assessments.

Logistics and Participation

  • The survey takes less than 20 minutes to complete.

  • The Team Assessment is suitable for a single team with a minimum of 5 members and a maximum of 25 members.

  • The team leader is given a survey link to send to each team member. The team leader sets the deadline for completion and the minimum number of responses required (5 is the smallest possible number). We recommend allowing a full week for people to take the survey.

  • Once the survey is complete (the deadline and minimum responses are given) the team leader receives the report containing the  questions and responses and the diagnosis, and recommended good practices.

We can provide an initial 15 minute introduction to the Westrum Continuum and the Sustained High Performing Team framework, and Q&A with the Team about the Assessment Report.  You can book this confidential 60-minute online consultation at the cost of $3,500 (payment required at time of booking). During this consultation, an expert consultant will discuss the Team Assessment Report, help you understanding the report and prioritize your next steps.

    • Extended Leadership Team Keynote & Q&A: Specifically for those who have purchased the Multi-Team Assessment, we offer options to participate virtually  in extended leadership offsite meetings, providing 15-20 keynote sessions on organizational culture followed by a live Q&A.
